About Beloved Community
We are a community of Lutherans, Episcopalians and anyone who wants to join us.
We are striving to learn how to truly welcome all people.
We still have much to learn, but we value making room for one another – even with our differences.
We believe all are created in, and a reflection of, God's image, regardless of color, race, spiritual beliefs, gender, origin, economic class, or sexual orientation.
We believe scripture and science do coexist, seeking both knowledge and wisdom together, with a healthy curiosity for both.
We are a spiritual community who live and serve outside of the four walls of the "church" within a larger social community where the local need is great.
We strive to follow Jesus in our actions by loving our neighbors, regardless of who they are or where they are.
We believe the Bible to be divinely inspired while also written by imperfect men; we believe it is faithful to question it, doubt it, poke and prod it while we study the Bible and work to apply it to our everyday lives.
We are not about converting anyone; Jesus asks us to follow in the Way of Love that his life exemplifies, not demand that all believe what we believe. We don't have every answer and we fully recognize that no one belief system has it "all right."
We respect that there are many different fingers pointing toward the same moon.
When you become part of this Beloved Community, you can feel the difference in yourself and see the difference where you live.
